Not just flowers from this florist!

Being able to purchase flowers online has made it so much easier to surprise someone with a lovely floral gift, but have you noticed how it isn’t just flowers you can order now - you can choose from a wide range of gifts using this method. Now, depending on where you shop will determine how broad your selection will be but for sheer quality of products and versatility I like the range of gifts on offer by 1800flowers.

It’s not just flowers here; whatever occasion you have coming up there will be something on this site for you to choose. Remember when gift baskets used to be basically fruit, cheese and biscuits? have a look at the gift baskets on offer here at 1800flowers - they cater to all tastes and even feature such goodies as cookies and cakes which would be brilliant for a teenage girl’s birthday. Gift baskets make a good all round gift choice as they feature a collection of different products and you can even put them together yourself giving them a personal touch.

Once again, it’s not just flowers here; perhaps you know someone who is allergic…? what about considering a bonsai, or a lovely green plant or potted palm? they all come delivered in beautiful high quality vases/baskets/containers which add to their gift appeal.  The gourmet baskets that 1800flowers offer look ready to be taken out on a picnic - what I really like are the lovely whicker baskets which are designed to be kept and used for later on so these do make great gifts that last a long time. Remember that the food items are all the freshest and most choice products available, the fruit is all the best that the season has to offer and the chocolates all the best quality.

To add a touch of rustic charm and effortless class Martha Stewart has added her expert touch to many of the designs giving them a special individual appeal and something any woman would love to receive as a gift. My own personal choice?…I love the luxurious Spa baskets; all filled with wonderful items that will make you feel very pampered and so very special. These come delivered and presented in the most beautiful baskets, tote-bags and gift boxes; imagine presenting one of these Mum on Mother’s Day - or especially to a new mother herself, and of course, there are Spa baskets for ‘Him’ as well. There truly is something for everyone.

Isn’t heli-skiing expensive?

April 10th, 2008

Actually, not nearly as expensive as you’d think. In fact, there isn’t a whole lot of difference in the cost as compared to a normal ski trip once you count up all the costs and you get a whole lot more ski time than you would on a normal ski holiday.

The big diffences are that heliskiing holidays are generally pitched at the luxury end of the market and can guarantee that you can ski every day. Even if the weather is too bad to take the helicopter up, you can get a fall-back option of a snowcat to take you up instead. Either way you’re on the slopes every day which you generally can’t depend on on a normal ski vacation.

Still not convinced? How about all that virgin snow that you’ll get to ski on? That’s one thing you can pretty much rule out on a normal ski trip. Don’t forget that the luxury element is carried through to the food and accommodation too. For example, Snow Water have a truly mouthwatering selection of dishes illustrated for their ski trips which you’re unlikely to find on offer on normal ski trips.

Heliskiing in British Columbia is a very appealing option with pretty much everything included in the pricing and, as we all know, it’s the “little things” that aren’t included which can really take the price of a holiday through the roof. In fact, although the list price of a heliski vacation is pretty much certain to be higher than that of a normal ski break, add all those little extras in and the bottom line isn’t all that different whereas the quality of holiday is, of course, completely different.

No win, no fee injury claims in the UK

April 9th, 2008

The arrival of no win, no fee agreements in the UK is transforming the landscape of legal claims.

No longer do you need to dread going to a solicitor to make a claim against your employer for fear that the cost would bankrupt you and that’s a major, major plus.

Injury claims are the typical application of the no win, no fee legal teams. The range of areas under which you can make a no win, no fee claim is quite extensive covering road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping and slipping (eg in a supermarket) and product liability claims. All of these are areas where once it would have been a nightmare to think of claiming as the costs can be quite substantial.

How much can you get? Well, as they say in the ads “that depends”. For example, the whiplash that you might get in a car accident could bring you anything from £1000 to £5000 depending on the circumstances and the extent of your injury. A broken leg from £3000 to £20000, again depending on the circumstances.

How long does it all take? Again it depends but broadly speaking you’re talking in terms of months rather than years thanks to what’s called the “Pre-action Protocol” which speeds things up considerably compared to the typical timescales of a few years ago which is great news as nobody wants these things dragging on seemingly endlessly.
