Checking out beds for the new house
One of the hassles of our partial relocation that we could do without at the moment is the selection and purchase of several new beds.
Although it’s a bit of a nuisance for us when combined with the move itself, the plus point is that we get a new bed and could be doing with one anyway. What it also lets us do is to look into options in terms of storage beds which will give us a bunch more room when we will need it most. Thanks to the peculiar pricing policies of furniture firms there’s generally very little difference in the price compared to that of a normal bed so it’s something of a no-brainer.
The room sizes dictate bunk beds for the kids though in practice they love “ladder beds” anyway. What we do need to do is to limit their choice somewhat as the sheer number of options in the bunk beds category is confusing to me never mind the kids! These days you seem to be able to get just about every possible combination of features that you could imagine ranging from nice simple two storey bed through to all sorts of combinations of bed plus desk or storage or whatever. One thing that seems to be pleasingly absent from the bunk bed ranges are the car-beds as they look really daft when your child gets a little bit older.
And, of course, all that’s before you even consider the mattress which is obviously the bit that makes the biggest difference to your sleep!
