As we move into the longer and warmer days it’s time to consider sprucing up the environment outside your house as, all being well, you’ll be using it a lot more over the summer than was the case in those long winter nights.

If you’ve not done so already, now is a good time to checkout the state of your garden tools and maybe give the lawnmower a spin. Have a critical look at your outdoor furniture: is it really good enough to use this year? If you bought good quality items then you’re probably OK but the cheap plastic furniture just doesn’t last all that long and besides it looks dreadful.

Finally, as well as looking at the detail, don’t forget the big picture. Would your garden benefit from a complete make-over? If so, now’s a good time to plan that.
