Hasn’t it gotten complicated to get your TV connected?
July 13th, 2008Not so long ago you bought your TV, plugged in the aerial, plugged in the electric and away you went.
It’s a lot more complicated these days as few people stick to the limitations of the terrestrial channels so that adds a satellite decoder that needs plugged in. Then there’s the DVD player and perhaps you’ve still got the VHS recorder. Oh, and then you’ve the TiVO.
Whilst the connections have been growing in number even the TV itself has been improving so you’ve often outlets for bookshelf speakers for tv along with those for the stereo. Even the computer may get in on the act these days as there’s so much stuff available online that it’s handy being able to play that through the TV setup too.
Still, at least with all these advances we’ve the advantage that we can generally play the programmes on most, if not all, of the devices that we’ve collected over the years. My own kids are dead impressed with being able to watch Dr Who recorded on the computer and then transferred to their PSP.
