Just how powerful a diet pill can you get over the counter?
One of the problems with diet pills is that it’s a whole lot easier marketing them if they aren’t prescription medication so the companies producing them try to steer clear of ingredients which would force them to move over into the prescription market. That’s, of course, one of the reasons why you get so many natural remedies repackaged and sold in proprietary formulas as diet pills.
However, the companies still want their products to work and preferably be able to label them as “powerful”. Some of the combinations of ingredients that come through this process end up with quite a substantial number of separate ingredients to target various aspects that go into helping you diet. Phenphedrine, for example, is one of those carrying that “powerful” label and for good reason given the list of things that it targets. There’s quite a sophisticated approach to appetite suppression and metabolism boosting to begin with. Added to that it works on your insulin production (so probably best for diabetics to avoid) to aid muscle production (which eats up fat) and finally there’s a variant of caffeine thrown in.
Do read the labels on these “powerful” varieties and keep an eye on side-effects.
