A second first tutorial in psychology
Saturday saw my second tutorial for DSE212 although it was the first tutorial that that tutor had run. That combination meant that she went through the course introduction bit which wasn’t actually a repeat for me as it wasn’t really covered last week.
I was surprised that only two of us from last week turned up this time as the tutor last week was keen that we went to all of the available tutorials. Moreover, it was on a different topic so those who didn’t come back missed that and in particular missed quite a good coverage of part of the assignment due in a couple of weeks.
One other surprise was just how far the student numbers have dropped. Psychology is a very popular subject so there are generally multiple tutor groups running but it’s dropped from five groups down to just two over the last few years which is not a good sign from the university perspective but also means that we’re down to about one tutorial a month from around two so it has knockon effects from the support perspective too.
Quite a worthwhile tutorial as it covered in some detail the ethical issues that can arise.
